Essential Tools for Eyelash Extension Application

Any lash artist must have the tools listed below if he wishes to deliver quality services to the customers:

  • Lash tweezers: a lash artist must have two sets of tweezers when applying for lash extensions. One of them is the isolation tweezers which will be used to isolate the natural lashes so that there will be a decent application of the lash extensions.

The other set is the lashing tweezers which is specifically used to pick to eyelash extensions and apply them to the natural lashes.

  • Extension tape: This is used to hold down the bottom lashes so that they do not criss-cross with the lashes on the upper side. If this is allowed the lashes may make glue to shut the customer’s eyes which will harm your business.

Buy a medically safe tape that can be used in the sensitive parts of the eyes.

  • Lash brushes: these are used to brush the lash extensions to ensure that they remain upright and in the right order. Brushing will make the lashes stay in the desired shape and avoid forming strange angles.
  • Primer: This is used to remove any excess oil or mascara around the eyes before applying the lashes. It cannot be shared and you should have a primer for every client
  • The application of a primer is done using a microbrush which should be clean. A dirty brush may cause the spread of infections among clients which is not good for your business.
  • Eyelash adhesive: this is the primary requirement when applying lash extensions as it will be used to hold the eyelash extensions in place. Invest in a good adhesive that will not harm the eyes of your clients.

Do not fail to invest in anything that will make your customers trust you more. You must spend in order to earn from the loyalty of those customers who recognizes your efforts to make them get the best services.

Draping During a Massage Session

The mushrooming of massage parlors at every nook and corner is ample proof of the popularity of the massage therapy. A terrific relaxer and rejuvenator of mind and body, it is emerging as the ultimate panacea for the stress and depression of the modern lifestyle. Despite this, many people are apprehensive about it. The most significant concern for many is the belief that they would need to be completely nude. However, this fear is smoothly addressed by draping technique used during a massage therapy session.

What is draping?

Draping is the technique of covering the person receiving the massage in such a way that he/she can seamlessly receive the massage as well as feel secure, comfortable and safe with his/her dignity intact. It is primarily a client-therapist consideration but is an art and skill that must be mastered by the massage therapist. The quick and deft way in which the masseur will handle draping will automatically boost the client’s confidence, make him feel comfortable and ultimately help him relax.

Styles of Draping

Draping can be essentially of two types. They are:

  • Conservative draping

This is the most common type of draping and is meant for all those people who are uncomfortable with nudity. The entire body of the client is covered with a sheet and only that portion of the body exposed like back or legs at a single time so that the area can be massaged. For the newbies and people who do not feel comfortable being completely nude, clothing like an undergarment, camisole, spaghetti etc. can be adorned after consultation with the masseur. The idea is to be comfortable with the body part that is left exposed. Even if you are completely nude under the sheet and are comfortable with exposing your back or legs, you can refuse to expose your sensitive areas like your buttocks. The masseur can then give the massage by taking his hands under the sheet and keeping you covered. Once discussed properly and right expectations set, the therapist easily adjusts the draping level to the client’s comfort level. It must be kept in mind that because of the restrictive nature of the draping; the masseur might skip some areas for which you are not comfortable. Furthermore, in some areas, he might predominantly use techniques like compression to respect the line drawn by you.

  • Therapeutic draping

With this method of draping, a masseur has greater access to muscles and body areas. Most therapeutic massages require this type of draping. This can be easily adapted to once a person has undergone a session or two and has grown comfortable with leaving himself with minimal to no clothes in front of his masseur. The patient remains covered with a drape at all times here as well at all times. However, he/ she is no longer uncomfortable about leaving bare body parts like chest, breasts, buttocks etc. to the masseur so that he can massage the area using correct techniques and render maximum benefits. In most cases, for optimal effectiveness, the client needs to be nude under the sheet in this type of draping.

Final words

Draping goes a long way in providing a safe and respectful touch to the client. It is a standard practice and a mandatory legal requirement in the U. S. for the massage industry. It is this technique that lends confidence to many people to enjoy the joys of a massage therapy session.
